Also housed under the Training VP, the JLD Leadership Institute Committee develops and leads an intensive one-year leadership training program open to Active and Sustaining members.

About The JLD Leadership Institute

The JLD Leadership Institute was established in 2008 as the T. Boone Pickens Leadership Institute through a generous gift from T. Boone Pickens. Since 2008, over 300 members have graduated from the program. As we move into our 103rd year of service, the League is proud to announce the new name for our premier leadership training program, The JLD Leadership Institute. The JLD Leadership Institute will continue to grow the leadership skills of a selected annual class of our members through their participation in a 10-month development and strengths training course. Graduates of the JLD Leadership Institute will leave motivated to impact the Dallas community and equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to bring positive and effective change. The League recognizes and appreciates all the support T. Boone Pickens has provided over the years in its support of the Leadership Institute and its support of women leaders in Dallas.

2024 – 2025 APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

Timeline and Fees

Applications for 2025-2026 year will be available at a later date. The JLD Leadership Institute will be selected and confirmed by mid-July. To be eligible you must have completed 3 years of Active service.

*Scholarships are available.  If needed, please indicate on your application. Your need for a scholarship will not factor into whether or not you are accepted into the program.

Program Requirements

Requirements for the 2024-2025 year will be posted soon.

No placement or meeting credit will be given for Leadership Institute participation. Participants agree to fulfill the obligations in addition to their normal meeting requirements, placement requirements and dues.

Alumnae Program

The JLD Leadership Institute Advanced Track Alumnae program was created in 2013 for alumnae to connect through breakfast, book club meetings, dinner and community service projects. Members are encouraged to continue their training by attending current JLD Leadership Institute classes and events.
